SYN.: ἕτερος, which see ἄ. denotes numerical, ἕ. qualitative difference (Cremer, 89). ἄ. generally "denotes simply distinction of individuals, ἕ. involves the secondary idea of difference in kind" (see Lft. Meyer, Ramsay, on Gal.1:6, 7; Tr. Syn. §xcv; BL, §51, 6; M, Pr. 79f. 246; MM, VGT, s.vv.).
